Kindergarten – 32 months to 42 months

Our Aims

As the children move into Kindergarten, we focus on preparing them for Pre-School by developing their listening skills and independence. These aims are part of the Early Years Foundation Stage profile, and further information for Parents and Carers can be found within this guide.

Our methods

We carefully observe our children to ensure they are engaged and progressing well in all areas of learning both indoors and outside. We help children to become increasingly independent at Nursery and in turn, this encourages self-confidence. We enjoy numerous activities including reading stories to develop a love of books, expand vocabulary, trigger imagination, and broaden children’s experiences of the world around us. Our circle times are adult led and concentrate on the children’s emotional wellbeing, the session’s focussed learning objective, and general interests.  We encourage Parents and Carers to provide additional information verbally, via our apps, or using photographs from the home environment. This also helps us to enhance our special group time and our child focussed interactive displays located around the Nursery.

Children benefit further from multi skills classes where children learn and develop different skills such as: catching; throwing; travelling; stability.
